Recapping last night’s game

Rutherford Rampage 7 (6-1-0), Tennessee Outlaws 3 (3-3-0)
Dalton Alejandro scored the first goal of the game on the power play just over three-and-a-half minutes into the first period, with Jacob Schenk making it 2-0 Oultaws just 56 seconds later, and that was the score at the end of the first. Just 2:01 into the second, Carter Burnette-Vice got the Rampage on the board on a power play, the only goal either side scored in the middle frame, so Tennessee had a 2-1 lead after two. Rutherford took over the game in the third period. Nearly three-and-a-half minutes in, Tucker Wilhelm tied the game at 2-2, with Eddie Maze giving them the lead just over two minutes later. It was still anybody’s game until just under five minutes to go, when Justin Dickinson scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal. Two-and-a-half minutes later, Dylan Welch made it 5-2 Rampage. The Outlaws pulled the goalie with two minutes left, and with the extra attacker on, AJ Molloy scored to get them within 5-3, but any hopes of a comeback were squashed with 19 seconds to go, when Colin Burnette-Vice scored on the empty net to make it 6-3, and then Dickinson scored the last goal (with Dawson Reynolds back in the crease for the Outlaws) with just a second to go. Senior Night Goals were scored by the Burnette-Vice twins and Dickinson. A great finish to the game and the regular season for the Rampage, who claim the Hine Cup 1 seed. As for the Outlaws, they can still get the 3 seed, but they have to beat Brentwood on Monday, or they could end up falling all the way down to the 6 seed. After a strong start to the second half, they’re at risk of limping across the finish line. A note from Rampage head coach Mike Jones: The teams had to switch rinks (from North to South) with 11:23 left in the second after the glass in front of the scorekeeper’s box broke; that has to be the most bizarre glass delay in league history.

Tennessee Outlaws: Monday vs. Brentwood - 5:15 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp (They will be having their Senior Night ceremony.)
Rutherford Rampage: First round Henry Hine Cup game vs. Independence-Ravenwood 2 next Wednesday - 7:10 PM @ Centennial A
