Tonight’s broadcast

Page-Summit vs. Nolensville - 6:25 PM pregame, 6:30 PM faceoff BROADCAST LINK

Senior Night ceremonies

Senior Night ceremonies begin tonight, with Nolensville having theirs.

Scenarios for tonight

Brentwood-BA-USN will be eliminated from contention for the GNASH Cup regular season championship if they LOSE TO OR TIE WITH Ensworth-Lipscomb-CPA, AND Station Camp-Liberty Creek-Nashville Christian DEFEAT Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon, OR Ravenwood DEFEAT Independence-Centennial, whichever comes first, OR Brentwood LOSE TO Ensworth, AND Ravenwood TIE WITH Independence.

Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon will be eliminated from contention for the GNASH Cup regular season championship if they LOSE TO OR TIE WITH Station Camp-Liberty Creek-Nashville Christian, OR if they win that game, Ravenwood DEFEAT Independence-Centennial.

The Rutherford Rampage will be eliminated from contention for the GNASH Cup regular season championship if Ravenwood DEFEAT Independence-Centennial BEFORE the Rampage’s game with Franklin finishes, OR in the event that Ravenwood LOSE, the Rampage LOSE TO Franklin, OR both games END IN A TIE; OR Station Camp-Liberty Creek-Nashville Christian DEFEAT Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon, AND the Rampage LOSE TO OR TIE WITH Franklin, OR Station Camp TIE WITH Mt. Juliet, AND the Rampage LOSE TO Franklin.

Previewing tonight’s games

The game that MTSN will broadcast is in BOLD.

Brentwood-BA-USN (0-6-1) vs. Ensworth-Lipscomb-CPA (2-3-1) - 4:45 PM @ Centennial A
Another game that the Bruins will only win if Andrew Sallee stops everything shot at him, and they can get a few past Reuben Allen. “But what if Mattie Cox is in goal for Ensworth tonight?” Well, she played in goal in Allen’s absence in their first game of the season against Mt. Juliet, and Ensworth won 8-4, so…

Game prediction: Ensworth

Page-Summit (5-2-1) vs. Nolensville (4-2-2) - 6:30 PM @ Centennial A
This is a pivotal game for both teams to realistically stay in the GNASH Cup fight. A loss for either will likely derail their hopes, and a tie might derail it for both of them. On paper, the depth goes to Page, as they have more of it than the Knights. But, as always, where there’s Nolensville, there’s [most of the time] Bingston Soundara in goal for them. The Spartriots have already suffered two frustrating losses this season due to inability to beat goalies stopping everything in sight (and perhaps not pushing hard enough), and this could be another game where that happens. They’re on a four-game winning streak, playing their best hockey so far this season, and a loss would reset all of that. Unfortunately for them, I’m thinking that another Soundara Special™ is coming down the pipe.

Game prediction: Nolensville

Station Camp-Liberty Creek-Nashville Christian (7-0-0) vs. Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon (2-7-0) - 6:30 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp
The perfect Bison take on a Bears team that’s won two out of their last three. Newcomer Cade Ellenburg has given the Bears offense a bit of a boost, notching four points (3G, 1A) in his first two GNASH games (MJ’s last two), but I think they need even more than that to end Camp’s perfect season, whether by win or tie.

Game prediction: Station Camp

Ravenwood (7-0-1) vs. Independence-Centennial (2-4-2) - 7:40 PM @ Centennial B
On October 15, Indy beat Page 6-2 behind a brilliant goaltending performance from David Busby. Could this game end similarly? Ravenwood have a tendency to start slow offensively; Busby makes a big save early (like he did against Page) to get into the Raptors’ heads, and Indy manage to pot a few to put the game away early. The difference between Ravenwood and Page, though, is the fact that the Raptors don’t get frustrated to the point that they practically surrender when things get tough; they keep pushing throughout the game. That, for me, will be the thing that gets them past the Eagles.

Game prediction: Ravenwood

Rutherford Rampage (1-6-1) vs. Franklin (5-2-1) - 8:15 PM @ Centennial A
The Admirals bring to an end their three-game run of facing the league’s three supplemental teams, having beaten both the Outlaws and Kings in their previous two games. The Outlaws were the tougher of the two, as Franklin only led 3-2 after two before scoring three unanswered in the third. The Kings were a bit easier to brush aside; after leading just 2-1 after one, the Admirals scored four unanswered across the two remaining frames to go on and win the game. The Rampage might fall in the middle: They’ve been blown out in most of their games, but weak goaltending has allowed them to score a decent amount of goals in other games. Franklin absolutely need these two points tonight, because next week, they begin a three-game run against (in order) Page, Ensworth, and Ravenwood. They should get them no problem, however.

Game prediction: Franklin

JPII-MLK-GCS (1-4-2) vs. Montgomery Bell (4-2-2) - 8:15 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp
This could be a decent goaltending duel between Tripp Bland and Collier Owen (or, Ethan Hickerson, if he gets another go tonight). The Knights have not exactly been blown out in any of their four losses this season, with all of them coming to teams in the Top 8, and three of them being in the Top 5 (something I think I pointed out recently). They won’t get blown out by the Big Red, either, but I don’t know if they have enough offense to beat them. Like Page and Nolensville, MBA need this game to realistically stay in the hunt for the GNASH Cup. I think they’ll win it.

Game prediction: MBA
