Last night’s broadcast

Recapping last night’s game

Station Camp-Liberty Creek 6 (5-6-2), Independence-BA-USN-Nashville Christian 2 (3-8-1)
Just under five minutes into the game, Joey Siciliano took a shot in the Eagles’ slot that was stopped by Trent Pavlik, only for the rebound to come to Jadon Robertson at the bottom of the left circle, and he one-timed it in. Just over five minutes later, Toby Mehaffy made it 2-0 Bison, when he stuffed in a rebound from a saved Chase Ullrich shot while standing at the right-hand side of the Indy net. The Eagles converted a power play right at the first period buzzer, when Jackson McCoy tipped a Brody Wales shot from the left point into the back of the Station Camp net, and it was 2-1 Bison after one. Siciliano scored his first goal just 32 seconds into the second, when he ripped a shot from the slot into the top left-hand corner of the Eagles’ net. 78 seconds later, Wales made it 3-2, when he took a shot from right at the goal line on the right wing of the Bison zone just above the right wing corner, only for it to leak through Bison goalie Miller Campbell and in. Just under 11 minutes later, the Bison went up 4-2, when Andrew Grooms backhanded a rebound from a saved Siciliano shot into the back of the net from right in front to convert a power play, and that was the score after two. Siciliano completed his hat trick in the third: First, just under 2:30 into the third, he carried the puck down the left wing, and shot it into the top left-hand corner from the right-hand post, then, with just over two minutes to go, he raced across the front of the net, and lifted the puck over Pavlik’s glove and in, only to be unable to slow down before crashing into the left-wing corner boards, and having to limp back to the bench. The result of the game means the Eagles will play in the Hine Cup, while the Bison are now breathing down the Outlaws’ neck.

Next game for both teams
Station Camp-Liberty Creek: January 13 vs. JPII-MLK @ 5:30 PM @ Centennial A
Independence-BA-USN-Nashville Christian: January 13 vs. Brentwood @ 7:40 PM @ Centennial B (this will be their Senior Night game)

Standings

I’m thinking that there’s a good chance that MBA have clinched a Predators Cup berth. I’ll confirm it with Mark Layne at some point.

Normally, this is where I would put the schedule for the next week of games. However, I will save that for Sunday’s newsletter.
