Last night’s broadcast

Recapping last night’s games

The game that was broadcast by MTSN
Tennessee Outlaws 4 (6-3-2), Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill 3 (1-9-2)
Elsa Anderson opened the scoring with her first GNASH goal nearly four minutes into the game, when a sudden scramble in the Mt. Juliet crease allowed her to sweep the puck in. Just 41 seconds later, Jaxon McKnight made it 2-0, when he raced to the net, and knocked in a rebound from a Josh Kuehn shot that hit the post to Kaz Cronrath’s left. Just over three minutes later, Carter Spencer got the Bears on the board, when he one-timed a cross-ice pass into the bottom corner on the right-hand side of the Outlaws’ net from just inside the right circle. 1:21 later, Carson Slocum tied the game, when he knocked in a Shaurya Arora right-wing corner centering pass from right in front of the net, then he gave the Bears the lead 56 seconds later, when he received a pass at center ice, and went on a breakaway, taking a shot that pinballed between the legs of Justin Iannuccilli and in, and it was 3-2 Bears after one. With just under five minutes to go in the second, McKnight tied the game with his second goal, when he knocked in a Kuehn centering pass from in front. 1:50 later, Dalton Alejandro scored the game-winning goal when his shot from the left faceoff dot went into the top corner on the left-hand side of the Mt. Juliet net. The Bears shutdown the Outlaws offensively in the third, but couldn’t get the puck past Iannuccilli. With just under three minutes to go, Slocum was sent back to the locker room after picking up a 10-minute misconduct for unnecessarily arguing a (marginal) hand pass call. He was their best player last night, and that hurt them in the end. The loss dooms Mt. Juliet to the Hine Cup for the postseason, while the Outlaws pick up a big two points towards Preds Cup qualification, as they head into a three-game stretch over an eight-day span, where they play Summit, JPII, and MBA.

Next game for both teams
Tennessee Outlaws: Friday vs. Summit-Page @ 5:45 PM @ Antioch-North
Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill: January 13 vs. Father Ryan @ 7:05 PM @ Centennial A

The night’s other games
Franklin 3 (9-3-0), Independence-BA-USN-Nashville Christian 1 (2-7-1)
Cole Wright, Will McCormick, and Quinn Spencer scored for the Admirals, while Bryant Waddell (not Catcher Greyson, as the box score says) had the Eagles’ lone goal. The Admirals now head into their holiday break on the absolute edge of a Preds Cup berth; they’ll get it tomorrow night, if Indy beat Centennial, or that game ends in a tie. The Eagles will finally get Barrett Teasdale back, after a seven-game suspension that spanned two months.

Next game for both teams
Franklin: January 13 vs. Montgomery Bell @ 8:35 PM @ Centennial A
Independence-BA-USN-Nashville Christian: Tomorrow vs. Centennial-FRA @ 8:30 PM @ Centennial B

Ravenwood 4 (8-1-0), Centennial-FRA 1 (4-6-0)
Keaton Moffitt scored twice for the Raptors, with their other two goals coming from Jake Farrell and Aryan Patnaik. Avery Aziminia had the Cougars’ lone goal. Drew Stratton once again keeps Centennial in the game. The Raptors will clinch a Predators Cup berth tomorrow by simply beating Summit.

Next game for both teams
Ravenwood: Tomorrow vs. Summit-Page @ 8:45 PM @ Centennial A
Centennial-FRA: Tomorrow vs. Independence-BA-USN-Nashville Christian @ 8:30 PM @ Centennial B

Ensworth-Nolensville-Lipscomb 6 (11-0-2), Brentwood 1 (3-9-1)
Trex Hooper had a hat trick for the Ice Tigers, with their other goals coming from Logan Campbell, Hudson Honeybone, and Henry Cravens, while Jack Schultz scored the Bruins’ lone goal. The Ice Tigers take another step towards the GNASH Cup regular season championship and Preds Cup 1 seed, while the Bruins officially take a place in the Hine Cup for the second straight season; the result also eliminates the Outlaws from GNASH Cup contention.

Next game for both teams
Ensworth-Nolensville-Lipscomb: Next Monday vs. Summit-Page @ 8:30 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp
Brentwood: Next Monday vs. Father Ryan @ 7:40 PM @ Centennial A or B (this will be Brentwood’s Senior Night game)

JPII-MLK 5 (7-3-0), Rutherford Rampage 4 (4-9-0)
Clayton Roach scored twice for the Knights, with their other goals coming from Reese Davidson, Kade Ziemendorf, and Joe Hiller. Nick Hansen, Logan Wolfe, Will Haynes, and Josh Wolfe scored for the Rampage. A much closer result than I thought it would be. The result, plus the Outlaws’ win over Mt. Juliet, means that the Rampage will be defending their Hine Cup title when the postseason rolls around.

Next game for both teams
JPII-MLK: Next Monday vs. Centennial-FRA @ 5:30 PM @ Centennial A or B
Rutherford Rampage: Next Monday vs. Montgomery County Rangers @ 7:05 PM @ Centennial A or B (this will be the Rampage’s Senior Night game)
