Predators Cup Losers’ Bracket Final
Ravenwood 4, Montgomery Bell 3 (OT)
Canon Kiser scored the game’s first goal nearly three minutes in, when he shot the puck into the top corner of the right-hand side of the MBA net from the right half-wall. Just 3:01 later, Matthew Moore intercepted a Timo Holan clearance at center, brought it back into the Ravenwood zone, and shot it through the legs of Raptors goalie Reese Mackenzie into the back of the net from the top of the right circle. With 92 seconds to go in the first, Mason Reed and Owen Appel bumped into each other in the right wing corner of the Ravenwood zone; Ethan Sides picked up the loose puck, carried it in front, and shot it in past Mackenzie, giving the Big Red their first lead over Ravenwood all season, and it was 2-1 MBA after one. Just 40 seconds into the second, MBA won a faceoff in the Ravenwood zone; Michael Dattilo tried to send the puck to the net from the center point, only to barely make contact with it, allowing Keaton Moffitt to swipe it, carry it through center, and shoot it into the top left-hand corner of the MBA net. Just over 3:30 later, Reed extended his goal-scoring streak to six games, when he fired the puck into the left-hand side of the Big Red net through traffic from the high slot, and the Raptors held the 3-2 lead through the end of the second. Just over three minutes into the third, Kiser fell down at the right point of his own zone, allowing Duke D’Alba to take the puck into the Ravenwood zone, and shoot it into the top left-hand corner from the left circle, just as Moffitt did. The third period finished tied 3-3. With 56 seconds left into the overtime, Reed carried the puck into the Big Red zone, and roofed it from the left circle, sending the Raptors back to their fourth consecutive Predators Cup Final.
Next game for Ravenwood: Tomorrow in the Predators Cup Final vs. Ensworth-Nolensville-Lipscomb @ 8:40 PM @ Centennial A
Henry Hine Cup Losers’ Bracket Semifinal
Brentwood 2, Centennial-FRA 1
Brody Bohman scored the game’s first goal with 86 seconds left in the first, when he buried the puck into the bottom corner of the left-hand side of the Centennial net during a netmouth scramble, and the Bruins led 1-0 after two. With just 67 seconds left in the second, Zane Cesarone made it 2-0 Brentwood, when he redirected a Callahan Fielder centering pass into the back of the net while standing at the left-hand side of it, and the period ended with that being the score. Just over three minutes into the third, Aiden Gardner put Centennial on the board, when he shot the puck into the back of the Brentwood net from the left circle. From there, Andrew Sallee shut the door, and the Bruins held on for the win.
Next game for Brentwood: Tomorrow in the Henry Hine Cup Losers’ Bracket Final vs. Station Camp-Liberty Creek @ 7:10 PM @ Centennial A

Requiem for the Eliminated
Centennial-FRA
Departing Seniors: Sean Advani, Alex Aziminia, Owen Boyer, Blake Butcher, John Caesar, Cabell Cunningham, Eowyn Douglas, Clayton Hodgin, Brendan Mitchell, Drew Stratton
Centennial had the biggest Senior Class in all of GNASH this season. Normally, that would only be a big deal due to the fact that a rebuild could take a bit. But the Cougars are in anything but a normal situation. Thanks to no sufficient ice in Williamson County, their pipeline has dried up. They only had 19 players on the roster this season, one shy of the maximum number a team is allowed to dress for a GNASH game. Of the ten seniors, eight of them are Centennial students. There’s no way they’re replacing them all. A co-op with someone is likely. And what of Carson Denning, the lone FRA player left? What does he do? Where does he go? What’s next for the Centennial program? All of those questions will be answered eventually. Oh, and you know how many juniors this team had? None. The other nine players were freshmen (four of those) and sophomores (five).
Montgomery Bell
Departing Seniors: Edwin Bass, Aiden Becker, Emmett Casteel, Michael Dattilo, Hunter Wieck
Let’s be honest here: MBA wouldn’t have gotten this far without Hunter Wieck. Yes, they’ve got great scoring depth, but their defense left a lot to be desired. Wieck’s brilliance in goal papered over a lot of cracks. Also, they only have two lines (then again, you could say that about Ensworth and Ravenwood). Wieck joins the lineage of great past MBA goalies like Alex Austin, Noah Wamble, and Matt Thayer; but Aiden Becker is gone, too. So, who is the Big Red’s new #1 goalie next season? Surely, they know, since there’s an MBA JV team (which didn’t do well in the JV league season; they went 4-11-0 in the regular season, finishing 8th and getting the last playoff spot, then got walloped 10-0 by the Outlaws in the quarterfinals back on Saturday, a game where they were outshot 40-6). Maybe they’ll find someone through tryouts. Either way, if they bring in a goalie who needs work, well, it might be weird to read this, but, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were a Hine Cup team next season. We’ll see.
