Recapping last night’s games
Predators Cup first round
The games that were broadcast by MTSN
Ensworth-Nolensville-Lipscomb 6, Tennessee Outlaws 3
The Ice Tigers took the lead just 34 seconds into the game, when Henry Cravens took a shot from the Outlaws’ slot that went over the glove hand of a screened Dawson Reynolds. Just 18 seconds later, the Outlaws tied the game, when AJ Molloy took a shot from the top of the right circle that went into the back of the net. 68 seconds later, Ensworth retook the lead, when Jackson Malleus-Mayer took a shot that Reynolds saved, but couldn’t cover up; everyone crashed the net, and Trex Hooper managed to get the puck to go in. Things finally calmed down for a while until there was just under 4:30 left in the first, when Lucas Tarquine knocked in a Malleus-Mayer centering pass from right in front of the net, and Ensworth led 3-1 after two. With just under four minutes left in the second, Cravens scored his second goal of the game, when he took a shot from the blue line that went through traffic and into the back of the net. 2:02 later, Spencer Kern made it 5-1 Ensworth, when he took a Trex Hooper pass, and went straight to the front of the net, and roofed it in, and that was the score after two. Reynolds was replaced by Justin Iannuccilli for the third period, and it inspired the Outlaws; just 38 seconds into the third, Molloy scored again from the right circle on the power play. 30 seconds later, Clive Keeler made it 5-3, when he tipped a Nico Pulley blue line shot from in front. But they couldn’t complete the comeback, as Heath Hudy scored the game’s final goal, though it looked like his shot was going to miss the net, appearing to be knocked in by Logan Wood, who redirected it in when he was trying to keep the puck away from the crease.

Hunter Haley opened the scoring with just over three minutes left in the first, when he took a shot from the Knights’ slot that went over the glove hand of goalie Jacob Benoit. 46 seconds later, Saxon Clements tied the game, when he received a stretch pass at the Spartans’ blue line, carried it down the slot, and shot it into the back of the net. It was 1-1 after one. Just 56 seconds into the second, Summit got back in front, when Jacob Rodrigue took a shot from the slot that appeared to go through Benoit and in. Just over three minutes later, the Knights tied it up again, when Kade Ziemendorf knocked an Oscar Ford centering pass into the back of the net from in front. 4:02 later, Elijah Selby scored what would be the winning goal, when he took a shot from the right point right at the blue line that went into the top corner on the right-hand side of the Knights’ net, and Summit led 3-2 after two. Just under two minutes into the third, Aiden Meyer made it 4-2, when he backhanded a Madden Chandler centering pass in from in front. 88 seconds later, Chandler scored from the slot on a shot that went into the roof of the net. He then scored his second goal - and the game’s last - on the power play with just over five minutes left, when he took a shot from just inside the top of the left circle that pinged off the inside of the post to Benoit’s left and in.
