Wednesday, January 15

Tennessee Outlaws vs. Centennial-FRA - 8:30 PM on Rink B
JPII-MLK vs. Hendersonville-Beech-Lawson - 8:45 PM on Rink A

JPII and Hendersonville will be playing for the Rock Island Cup, which is planned to be annually awarded to the winner of the regular season game between the two teams. This is the first time in GNASH history that rivals have put a trophy on the line for their regular season game. I’m not sure yet how they’ll handle things if the game ends in a tie, but if it DOES go to a shootout to decide who wins the trophy, the game goes down as a tie in the GNASH record book.

Schedule for the next week of games

No games were scheduled for next week - January 20 through 24 - in case any of this week’s games needed to be moved due to weather. Also, next Monday, January 20, is MLK Day, and Centennial will be closed on that day. Since it seems that we will escape any postponements from Friday’s snowstorms, it looks like we’re going to have one more week off before the final week of the regular season the week after, with playoffs likely beginning on February 3.

MTSN will announce its broadcast schedule for this week in this Friday’s newsletter. As always, any time that is having a Senior Night ceremony prior to their game is underlined.
