Last night’s broadcast

Recapping last night’s games

The game that was broadcast by MTSN
Ensworth-Nolensville-Lipscomb 3 (13-0-2), Ravenwood 2 (10-2-1)
No goals were scored in the first period. Just over two minutes into the second, Keaton Moffitt scored the first goal of the game. A Jake Farrell pass from the end boards went off the skates of Hudson Honeybone, and ricocheted over to Grady Fernan, standing at the left-hand post; Fernan then passed it through the crease to Moffitt, who tapped it in to a wide open net with Ensworth goalie Bingston Soundara on his stomach and out of position. Just 93 seconds later, Ensworth tied the game on the power play, when Spencer Kern carried the puck to the right circle of the Ravenwood zone, and shot it through traffic into the back of the net, evading Raptors goalie Reese Mackenzie. Just under 2:20 later, Kern scored again when he took the puck to the slot, and took a shot that appeared to take a deflection and go into the top corner on the right-hand side of the net. Just 16 seconds later, Kern completed his hat trick when he closed in on the left-hand side of the Raptor net, and shot the puck in past Mackenzie. Ensworth held a 3-1 lead after two. With just 7:30 to go, Liam Powell won a faceoff in the Ensworth zone, pushing it towards the front of the net, then shooting it in off the left-hand post. Ensworth would hold on from there, but not before Soundara made about three amazing saves in the span of about 10 seconds in the final minute. The result of the game means that Ensworth win the GNASH Cup regular season championship, and claim the Predators Cup 1 seed. Reese Mackenzie picks up her first loss in her seventh start.

Next game for both teams
Ensworth-Nolensville-Lipscomb: Predators Cup first round game, opponent TBD, date and time TBA
Ravenwood: January 27 vs. Independence-BA-USN-Nashville Christian @ 7:40 PM @ Centennial B

The night’s other games
Station Camp-Liberty Creek 6 (6-6-2), JPII-MLK 4 (9-4-0)
McClain Gregory scored twice for the Bison, with their other goals coming from Andrew Grooms, Chase Ullrich, Jadon Robertson, and Marshall McMurtry. The Knights’ goals came from Coleman Glidewell, Nick Pellegrino, Kade Ziemendorf, and Joe Hiller. A big win for Station Camp, and now the pressure is firmly on the Outlaws to deliver against Centennial tomorrow night. In fact, in the goal differential tiebreaker, Station Camp actually lead the Outlaws +3 to +2. Meanwhile, JPII lose a big opportunity to close in on Ravenwood for the Preds Cup 2 seed. The result of the game means that whichever one of the now three teams vying for the last two Preds Cup berths that doesn’t get one will be guaranteed the Hine Cup 1 seed.

Next game for both teams
Station Camp-Liberty Creek: January 29 vs. Ravenwood @ 8:45 PM @ Centennial A (this will be their Senior Night game)
JPII-MLK: Tomorrow night vs. Hendersonville-Beech-Lawson @ 8:45 PM @ Centennial A

Father Ryan 4 (5-8-1), Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill 3 (1-10-2)
Danny Libby and Gage Hart both scored for the Fighting Irish, while Ridgeway Lambert scored his first GNASH goal, and Colin Sullivan scored a Senior Night Goal™. The Spencer twins scored all of Mt. Juliet’s goals, with Carter netting two, and Reid getting the other. Father Ryan have got to be the firm favorites for the Hine Cup 2 seed now.

Next game for both teams
Father Ryan: January 29 vs. Summit-Page @ 7:10 PM @ Centennial A
Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill: January 27 vs. Montgomery Bell @ 6:15 PM @ Centennial A

Brentwood 7 (4-10-1), Independence-BA-USN-Nashville Christian 3 (3-9-1)
Matthew Melamed scored his first two GNASH goals for the Bruins, with Callahan Fielder also getting two. Their other three goals came from Zane Cesarone, Payne Fielder (his first GNASH goal), and Jack Schultz. Melamed becomes the Bruins’ sixth different goal scorer this season, while the elder Fielder becomes their seventh and final. That’s not a stat I normally keep track of, but knowing that about a decade ago, Brentwood would’ve had almost double that, I am here. Bryce Akright scored for the Eagles, with Senior Night Goals™ coming from Landric Mayeski and Barrett Teasdale. Teasdale finally made his fifth appearance of the regular season, making him playoff eligible. The Eagles can still get the Hine Cup 2 seed, and while they’ll likely beat the Rangers tomorrow, beating Ravenwood in two weeks might be a tall order.

Next game for both teams
Brentwood: Henry Hine Cup first round game, opponent TBD, date and time TBA
Independence-BA-USN-Nashville Christian: Tomorrow night vs. Montgomery County Rangers @ 7:10 PM @ Centennial A

Montgomery Bell 4 (8-3-2), Franklin 0 (9-4-0)
Matthew Moore scored twice for the Big Red, with their other goals coming from Trace Graham and James Lehrman. MBA finally clinch a Predators Cup berth.

Next game for both teams
