Tonight’s broadcast
Father Ryan vs. Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon - 8:35 PM pregame, 8:40 PM faceoff BROADCAST LINK
Regular season finale
The Clarksville Kings are playing their final game of the regular season tonight, becoming the first team to wrap up the campaign.
Senior Night ceremonies
Father Ryan and Page-Summit are having their Senior Night ceremonies tonight.
Scenarios for tonight
Page-Summit will clinch a Predators Cup berth if they DEFEAT OR TIE WITH the Clarksville Kings.
Page-Summit will be eliminated from contention for the GNASH Cup regular season championship if they LOSE TO OR TIE WITH the Clarksville Kings.
Brentwood-BA-USN will be the 7 seed for the Henry Hine Cup if the Clarksville Kings DEFEAT Page-Summit; if that happens, the Kings would then take the 6 seed for the Hine Cup if Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon DEFEAT OR TIE WITH Father Ryan.
Previewing tonight’s games
Both games will be played @ Centennial A. The game that MTSN will broadcast is in BOLD.
Page-Summit (8-3-2) vs. Clarksville Kings (3-11-0) - 7:10 PM
If Ensworth had beaten or tied with Nolensville on Monday, the Spartriots would’ve come into tonight’s game with a Predators Cup berth in their back pocket, but since the Knights won, they’re actually going to have to take the ice and do the work themselves to get it. Page bounced back nicely from the loss to MBA a week ago Monday by beating Father Ryan last Friday. They’re taking on a Clarksville team hoping to go into their between regular season and playoffs break having snapped their league-high nine-game losing streak. If it weren’t their Senior Night, I’d worry that this would be the type of game that Page wouldn’t chase from the get-go and possibly lose, as they were prone to do early in the regular season. However, I think a combination of the fact that it is their Senior Night and they don’t want to lose to a team that’s lost nine straight will prevent that from happening.
Game prediction: Page
Father Ryan (8-5-0) vs. Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon (4-9-0) - 8:40 PM
The Fighting Irish took a double gut-punch on Monday with both Nolensville and MBA winning, as it pushed them into 9th place (I know that the standings page on the GNASH website has the Irish in 8th and Station Camp in 9th on goal difference, but that’s not the case; Camp are ahead of Ryan on head-to-head, and Hendersonville are ahead of Franklin on the same tiebreaker when it comes to 2nd place). This is very nearly a must-win for the Irish tonight, because they have to face the aforementioned Commandos next Friday in their regular season finale, and if they lose both of these games, they will finish 9th, and be defending their Hine Cup title after all after certainly everyone - including myself - thought that they would be playing in the Predators Cup next month. Their opponents tonight are no pushovers, either. Mt. Juliet have gotten pretty good over the last couple of months, and one wonders what might’ve been if they’d manage to turn a couple of those six season-opening losses into wins. In their last seven games, the Bears have won four and lost three, and they’ve lost two of those games by a single goal (JPII and Page), and the other by just two goals (Nolensville). I know I keep pointing out the addition of Cade Ellenburg to the roster in time for the Nolensville game (meaning he wasn’t on it when they beat Indy for their first win of the season), but he has become a major presence, scoring a goal in every game but one (the JPII loss), and having three multi-point games. He’s become their second-leading scorer in just six games. You’ve got to keep an eye on him and Jordan Antar. Father Ryan have their usual suspects (Gage Hart, Ridgeway Lambert, Hudson Laux, and Curtis Newman), and I think we’ve got a pretty decent game on our hands. I do wonder what the goaltending matchup will be; that could ultimately decide the outcome. I think the Irish will find a way, though.

Schedule update
I have been informed by league scheduler Gary Anderson that the playoffs will not begin on Wednesday, January 28, as originally planned. He is holding that day open just in case weather forces any games to be moved, so, it looks like the playoffs will now begin on Monday, February 2. He tells me that he plans to put together the playoff schedule next week, although, of course, the only team that has locked down a playoff seed so far is the Rampage, who will be the 8 seed for the Hine Cup following their loss to Hendersonville back on Monday.
