Last night’s broadcast

Recapping last night’s games

The game that was broadcast by MTSN
Ravenwood 5 (11-3-1), Station Camp-Liberty Creek-Nashville Christian 1 (8-6-0)
Jake Farrell opened the scoring with just over 3:30 left in the first, as he brought the puck into the Station Camp zone down the left wing boards, made a nice move around backchecker Gavin Cole, then roofed it from the bottom of the left circle, and it was 1-0 Raptors after one. Just 39 seconds into the second, Brady Friedman was at the right faceoff dot, and fired a centering pass to Keaton Moffitt standing at the right-hand post of the Bison net, and Moffitt perfectly redirected it in. Exactly four minutes later, Farrell found Moffitt all alone in the slot, and Moffitt fired the puck into the back of the net, and Ravenwood led 3-0 after two. Just over three minutes into the third, Ravenwood goalie Colin Gower made a big save on Toby Mehaffy, and Timo Holan grabbed the puck, and led the elder Friedman brother on a 2-on-1, and passed it across to Friedman, who fired it through the legs of Bison goalie Britton Watson, who then gave way to Miller Campbell, making his first GNASH appearance in over a year after sustaining an ACL injury during travel play last January. Lucas Voyles scored Ravenwood’s final goal of the game (and regular season) with just over seven minutes left, when Campbell couldn’t find the puck while standing in the crease, leaving the net open, and Voyles shot it in from the left half-wall. Merritt Freeman broke the shutout with 29 seconds to go, when he roofed the puck from the bottom of the left circle in the Raptors’ zone. The result of the game means that Ravenwood win the 2025-26 GNASH Cup regular season championship, their fifth GNASH Cup in program history, tying them with MBA for second-most all-time behind Brentwood, who have a record six. It’s the Raptors’ first GNASH Cup since 2022-23. Of course, it also means that they’ll be the 1 seed for the Predators Cup.

As for Station Camp, this is five losses in a row, and six in their last seven games. They can still get a Predators Cup berth, but they need Father Ryan to lose to Hendersonville tomorrow, because if the Irish get a least a tie, they would clinch a Preds Cup berth, and Ensworth could then take the final berth by beating JPII. But if the Irish lose to Hendersonville, Station Camp would then need to beat Franklin to overtake Ryan on the head-to-head tiebreak, and nab the last Preds Cup berth (although, if Ensworth lose to JPII, and Station Camp tie Franklin, the Bison would still get the last Preds Cup berth, pushing the Ice Tigers out due to having won more games).

I’ll have more in tomorrow’s newsletter.

Next game for both teams
Ravenwood: Predators Cup first round game vs. 8 seed, date and time TBA, opponent TBD
Station Camp-Liberty Creek-Nashville Christian: Monday (or, if it has to be rescheduled, TBA) vs. Franklin @ 8:15 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp (this will be their Senior Night game)

The night’s other games
Nolensville 9 (8-4-3), JPII-MLK-GCS 5 (4-8-2)
Jackson Malleus-Mayer and Henry Cravens each had hat trick for the victorious Knights, with their other goals coming from Emmett Szakos, Spencer Kern, and Logan Campbell, while Ian Sullivan, Joe Hiller, Carter Bahorik, Hugo Ford, and Michael McEver scored for the losing Knights. This win, combined with Station Camp’s loss to Ravenwood, means that Nolensville clinch a Predators Cup berth. As for JPII, they can still get the 3 seed for the Hine Cup, but they need an Outlaws loss to Page, combined with at least a tie with Ensworth.

Next game for both teams
Nolensville: Predators Cup first round game, date and time TBA, opponent TBD
JPII-MLK-GCS: Monday (or, if it has to be rescheduled, TBA) vs. Ensworth-Lipscomb-CPA @ 4:45 PM @ Centennial A

Montgomery Bell 12 (9-3-2), Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon 1 (4-11-0)
Trace Graham had a hat trick for the Big Red, and Lawson Brown scored twice, while their other goals came from Duke D’Alba, Andrew Frech, Ethan Moore, Matthew Moore, Hudson Higgins, Ethan Sides, and Cortland Klett, while Reid Spencer had the Bears’ lone goal. This win, combined with Station Camp’s loss to Ravenwood, means that the Big Red clinch a Predators Cup berth. Meanwhile, this loss for MJ confirms that they will be the 5 seed for the Hine Cup.

Next game for both teams
Montgomery Bell: Monday (or, if it has to be rescheduled, TBA) vs. Independence-Centennial @ 6:30 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp (this will be their Senior Night game)

Update on next week

League scheduler Gary Anderson sent out an email last night, saying that next week’s games are still on as scheduled, and any changes will be made on Sunday night or Monday morning. He is hoping to reschedule any games for later next week, but has acknowledged that he might have to push them back to Monday, February 2, which would delay the start of the playoffs. I already know he’s been asked to not schedule any games for next Friday the 30th at either of the Fords, because they’re hosting a girls’ tournament that begins that day.
