Last night’s broadcasts

Recapping last night’s games

The games that were broadcast by MTSN
Montgomery Bell 3, Page-Summit 2 (both teams now 7-3-2)
Trace Graham opened the scoring on a very early power play for the Big Red just 96 seconds in, when he shot the puck through the legs of Page goalie Justin Iannuccilli from the top of the right circle. Nearly 3:20 later, with the Big Red on another power play, Matthew Moore closed in on the right-hand side of the net, and banked the puck in off of either Iannuccilli or Jonah Ferguson, who was standing right next to his netminder, and MBA led 2-0 after one. Just over four minutes into the second, Lewis Jalovec failed to keep the puck in the Spartriots’ zone, allowing Hunter Haley to grab it and carry it through center into the MBA zone, where he found Brayden Owen coming down the right wing all alone; he fed Owen the puck, and Owen fired it into the right-hand side of the net, just behind the right-hand post, as the puck went in and out. Just 5:02 later, Owen carried the puck to the MBA net, forcing Tripp Bland to make a save, but he got his own rebound, and shot it in through Bland’s legs. 27 seconds later, MBA won a faceoff to Bland’s left; Graham carried the puck into the Page zone, and took a shot from the left circle that deflected in off of the glove of Iannuccilli, and that was the final goal of the game. Bland made a big breakaway save on Haley in the second that made the difference. So, Page’s seven-game unbeaten run ends. MBA totally dominated the first period; Page tilted the ice in their direction in the second, but the early PP goals ended up killing them. A heartbreaking defeat for the Spartriots, and their GNASH Cup hopes may have taken a fatal blow.

Next game for both teams
Montgomery Bell: Next Monday vs. Station Camp-Liberty Creek-Nashville Christian @ 8:15 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp
Page-Summit: Friday vs. Father Ryan @ 5 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp

Ravenwood 4 (9-2-1), Franklin 2 (7-3-2)
Michael Mannion opened the scoring nearly two minutes in, when he backhanded the puck through the legs of Raptors goalie Reese Mackenzie from the left circle after his initial backhanded wraparound attempt hit the outside of net on the right-hand side. Just over nine minutes later, with the Raptors on the power play, Keaton Moffitt fed the puck to Canon Kiser, who took a shot from in tight on the left-hand side of the Franklin net that Admirals netminder Grayson Butters saved, only for Moffitt to knock in the rebound. With 28 seconds left in the period, Moffitt stole the puck from a Franklin player (didn’t get a good look at who it was), and passed it to Jake Farrell, who carried the puck into the Franklin zone, and shot it into the back of the net from the left circle, and Ravenwood led 2-1 after one. Just over 5:30 into the second, Lucas O’Leary took a shot from the blue line in-between the center and right points that hit the roof of the Franklin net for his first GNASH goal. Exactly six minutes later, Kiser made it 4-1 Ravenwood, when he shot the puck into the back of the net from the bottom of the right circle, and that was the score after two. Braden Coleman scored the game’s final goal with 52 seconds left, when he got around the last two Ravenwood defenders, and shot the puck into the top left-hand corner of the Raptor net from near the right-hand post. The game got rough in the third period, with 19 penalties called. Wyatt Gerischer, Aidan Murphy, and Timo Holan all got fighting majors within the last 30 seconds, while Murphy also got a major for charging. He got called for four penalties, meaning he’s going to have a multi-game suspension. Unfortunately for Franklin head coach Todd Grosse, the Admirals were called for 14 penalties, meaning that he’ll be suspended for the second time this season for his team breaching the 12-penalty minimum, and, if Murphy’s charging major isn’t reduced, he’ll serve another game for his team breaching the three-major/match penalty minimum, also for the second time this season. As for Ravenwood, they now only need to tie Ensworth on Friday to clinch a Predators Cup berth, but more importantly, if they win their next two games, the GNASH Cup will be theirs.

Next game for both teams
Ravenwood: Friday vs. Ensworth-Lipscomb-CPA @ 6:45 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp
Franklin: Friday vs. Independence-Centennial @ 5 PM @ Antioch-North

The night’s other games
JPII-MLK-GCS 2 (4-5-2), Station Camp-Liberty Creek-Nashville Christian 1 (8-4-0)
Reese Davidson and Hugo Ford scored the Knights’ goals, Ford’s winner coming with 2:46 to go, while Patrick Atmore had the lone tally for the Bison. So, Station Camp have lost three in a row and four out of their last five. What on Earth has happened? It’s heartbreaking watching this collapse after how their season started. Forget the GNASH Cup; knowing that they still have to play MBA, Ravenwood, and Franklin, is there a chance they end up falling out of the Top 8 altogether? They’re only two points ahead of ninth place Nolensville now. It’s getting hairy. Meanwhile, the Knights are making the fight for the last Preds Cup spot slightly more interesting, but they’ve still got to play Franklin, Nolensville, and Page, so, they’ll get a Hine Cup spot soon.

Next game for both teams
JPII-MLK-GCS: Tomorrow vs. Tennessee Outlaws @ 8:40 PM @ Centennial A (this will be their Senior Night game)
Station Camp-Liberty Creek-Nashville Christian: Next Monday vs. Montgomery Bell @ 8:15 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp

Father Ryan 6 (8-4-0), Tennessee Outlaws 3 (3-7-2)
Gage Hart and Hudson Laux each scored twice for the Fighting Irish, with their other goals coming from Michael Jaskoski and Ridgeway Lambert, while Clive Keeler and the Kuehn brothers Josh and Noah scored for the Outlaws. This result, combined with Ensworth’s win over Indy, means that the Outlaws will play in the Henry Hine Cup in the postseason.

Next game for both teams
Father Ryan: Friday vs. Page-Summit @ 5 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp
Tennessee Outlaws: Tomorrow vs. JPII-MLK-GCS @ 8:40 PM @ Centennial A

Hendersonville-Beech-Lawson 10 (8-3-1), Clarksville Kings 4 (3-10-0)
Landon Croft had a hat trick for the Commandos, with Caleb Carlance and Nicolas Hofmann each scoring twice, and their other goals coming from Caden Sisco, Braden Rose, and Merrick Mott. Brock Hasse scored twice for the Kings, with their other goals coming from Aidan Hasse and Jackson Curran. Clarksville actually jumped out to a 2-0 lead, according to the GameSheet, and led 2-1 after one, only for Hendersonville to outscore them in the second period 6-0. Speaking of second, that’s where the Commandos now find themselves in the GNASH table.

Clarksville Kings: Tomorrow vs. Brentwood-BA-USN @ 7:10 PM @ Centennial A

Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon 8 (4-9-0), Rutherford Rampage 5 (1-11-1)
Jordan Antar, Cade Ellenburg, and Jayson Tippens each scored twice for the Bears, with their other goals coming from Carter Spencer and Isaac Lachowicz (his first GNASH goal), while Lucas Bardo, Brandon Schulenberg, Mason Matthews, Myles Thompson, and Cooper Feasel scored for the Rampage.

Saxon Clements scored twice for the Ice Tigers, with their other goals coming from Sam Melnikov, Logan Lakoff, Cam Fowler, and Henry Oeser, while Cash Branyan and Nick Claas each scored twice for the Eagles. If Indy don’t beat Franklin on Friday, they’re a Hine Cup team.
