Henry Hine Cup Final
#5 Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon vs. #2 Independence-Centennial - 6 PM
How they got here
Mt. Juliet:
-lost 6-5 to JPII on February 9 in the first round
-defeated Rutherford 8-4 on February 10 in the Losers’ Bracket first round
-defeated the Outlaws 5-4 on February 18 in the Losers’ Bracket Quarterfinals
-defeated JPII 4-1 last Wednesday in the Losers’ Bracket Semifinal
-defeated Father Ryan 4-2 last Thursday in the Losers’ Bracket Final
Independence:
-defeated the Kings 9-2 on February 9 in the first round
-defeated the Outlaws 4-2 on February 17 in the Winners’ Bracket Semifinals
-defeated Father Ryan 3-2 last Monday in the Winners’ Bracket Final
Regular season meeting: Mt. Juliet won 3-2 on November 3
When these two teams met four months ago tomorrow, Indy had Clive Neal in the crease making his first GNASH start, and Cade Ellenburg wasn’t yet on Mt. Juliet’s roster. Ellenburg has become a superstar for Mt. Juliet during this Hine Cup run, scoring ten of their 26 goals, with Jordan Antar having seven goals himself. The pair traded hat tricks during the Bears’ big wins against JPII and Father Ryan last week, with Antar having one against the Knights, and Ellenburg the following night against the Irish. But the biggest factor in those two games has been the play of goaltender Shepard Hulsey; he made a combined 43 saves on 46 shots across the two games. On the other side are the Eagles. They’ve obviously played fewer games than their opposition because they came through the Winners’ Bracket. After blowing out the Kings in their first round game, they’ve had to scratch out two tough wins against the Outlaws and Father Ryan, both of which they’ve had to come from behind. Like Hulsey, David Busby’s play has been the big factor in the Eagles’ last two games, making a combined 47 saves on 51 shots against the Outlaws and Irish. I would say that the Antar/Ellenburg pairing is similar to the Josh Kuehn/Clive Keeler duo from the Outlaws, although I would say that Antar is better than Keeler. Hank Walker, Aiden Gardner, and Nick Claas have each scored four goals this postseason for Indy. Neither team really has a lot of depth outside their top scorers, so, this will definitely come down to goaltending, and I think that Busby’s experience in the league will help Indy get over tonight. Owen Brought is serving the fifth of his 11-game suspension tonight.
Game prediction: Indy
Consequences of this game’s result: Indy will win the Hine Cup with a win, but if Mt. Juliet win, they will force the If Necessary Game, which will take place on Wednesday @ 5:30 PM @ Centennial A
Predators Cup Final
#2 Montgomery Bell vs. #7 Nolensville - 8:15 PM
Nolensville are the home team because they came out of the Winners’ Bracket.

-defeated Page 4-1 last Monday in the Losers’ Bracket Semifinal
-defeated Franklin 5-0 last Wednesday in the Losers’ Bracket Final
Nolensville:

-defeated Page 4-1 on February 11 in the Winners’ Bracket Semifinals
-defeated Franklin 2-1 last Monday in the Winners’ Bracket Final

MBA have finally begun spreading their scoring out beyond Trace Graham and Matthew Moore in these last few games, but if they can’t finally beat Bingston Soundara, it won’t matter. Soundara has allowed three goals in the Knights’ three playoff games, giving up one in each game. In the first round meeting between these two teams, Soundara made 36 saves on 37 shots, while his teammates only managed 19, which is the same as the number of goals that the Big Red have scored in these playoffs. The Knights have only scored eight goals in three games (well, seven, because Page put one in their own net), with Spencer Kern scoring exactly half of them, with the others being divided among Jackson Malleus-Mayer (two) and Henry Cravens (one), while Soundara was given the goal that Page scored on themselves. But another thing the Knights have done right this postseason is having the defense clogging up lanes and forcing shooters to the outside, not letting too many chances in from in tight. But Graham and Moore are better than any of the players that Nolensville have faced so far this postseason, and keeping them from getting to the front of the net will be crucial to walking off with the trophy tonight. For me, if there’s going to be an If Necessary Game, it’s going to be for this final. I like the way MBA are playing, and I think that we’re going to run it back one more time on Wednesday.
Game prediction: MBA
Consequences of this game’s result: Nolensville will win the Predators Cup with a win, but if MBA win, they will force the If Necessary Game, which will take place on Wednesday @ Centennial A @ either 5:30 PM (if the Hine Cup If Necessary won’t take place) or 7:45 PM (if the Hine Cup If Necessary will take place)
