Previous meetings this season:
-3-3 tie on November 17 in the regular season
-Nolensville won 2-1 in the first round of the Predators Cup on February 4
-MBA won 2-1 on Monday in Game 1 of the Final
The standout stat from Monday was the fact that Nolensville only had 12 shots on goal. MBA were suppressing them constantly, not allowing many shots in tight, the only chances the Knights had from close range being the Judah Campbell goal early in the second, and the Spencer Kern breakaway in the third that Tripp Bland shut down. Other than those two gaffes, the Big Red played as perfect a game as possible two nights ago, but it won’t matter if they don’t win tonight. MBA’s momentum from the last couple of weeks continues to hold up, and, Conner Mazzoni continued to lead the offense, scoring both goals, as the Big Red won a game for the first time this entire postseason in which neither Matthew Moore nor Trace Graham scored. Meanwhile, the game on Monday exposed just how young and inexperienced Nolensville are outside of the core group of Kern/Malleus-Mayer/Bohnert/Cravens/L. Campbell. That core group is going to have to fight for space in the offensive zone to try and get to Tripp Bland, because since the Station Camp game two weeks ago, he has been damn near perfect. He is looking like a Hunter Wieck-type lately. As for Bingston Soundara, he’s only allowed five goals in four games this postseason, but his team has only scored nine; it doesn’t matter how many saves you make, if the guys who are supposed to put the puck in the net aren’t doing that job, you won’t win. But here’s another thing to think about: this is a full-on championship game, and Bland is only a freshman, whereas Soundara has played in and won the last two Preds Cup Finals (he’s THE reason Ensworth won it last year; you can make an argument that Ben Sonkin was the reason Ensworth won the If Game in 2024, as he had a hat trick in it, but without Bingston last season, they wouldn’t have repeated). A team is only as good as its goalie will be, but logic also dictates that if Bland would’ve folded because of inexperience and nerves, it would’ve happened on Monday. It’s very hard for me to see anything other than the Big Red throwing sticks, gloves, and helmets into the air in celebration at the final buzzer tonight. Andrew Frech returns to the lineup for MBA tonight after being suspended for Monday’s game for picking up a high-sticking major against Franklin last week.

Game prediction: MBA

2026 GNASH All-Star Game - 8:45 PM
Current rosters

I would fully expect these rosters to not be the same when gametime comes tonight, as I cannot picture any member of the losing team who got voted in deciding to turn around and play after such a heartbreaking loss, unless they’re a senior. I hope they have a lot of alternates waiting in the lobby, otherwise we might be very shorthanded when the game takes place.
