Previewing tonight’s games
The games that MTSN is broadcasting are in BOLD.
Rutherford Rampage (4-5-0) vs. Tennessee Outlaws (3-3-1) - 5:30 PM @ Centennial A
If you are a fan of Centennial, Father Ryan, or Brentwood, you need to root for the Outlaws to win this game, because I feel like the Rampage are now the favorites for the eighth and final place in the Predators Cup. They have emerged from the five-way bottleneck in positions 8-12, and beaten all three of those teams I mentioned at the start of this. Now, they face the Outlaws with a chance to firmly separate themselves from that small pack. It will not be an easy task. Both teams have a player who can make a difference (Eddie Maze for the Rampage, and Josh Kuehn for the Outlaws), and their goaltending is pretty decent, so, this game could be close. I think that, in the end, the Rampage will prevail.
Pick: Rampage
Hendersonville-Beech-Lawson (6-2-1) vs. Father Ryan (2-4-1) - 7:05 PM @ Centennial A
After playing their first eight games of the regular season over the course of its first six weeks, the Commandos have had a chance to settle down, only playing once since their eighth game on October 23. That was against Ensworth last Wednesday, a game they only lost 3-0. That tells me they’re better than everyone thinks they are, including themselves. As I’ve said a thousand times before, I think Hendersonville have done enough to get into the Predators Cup, but getting one or two more points before taking an extended rest before their next game on December 4 against Montgomery County would do them some good. They will absolutely not want to lose to a Father Ryan team that lost to Indy, though. I don’t think they will.
Pick: Hendersonville
Centennial-FRA (3-4-0) vs. Montgomery Bell (5-2-1) - 7:40 PM @ Centennial B
While fans of Centennial, Father Ryan, and Brentwood need to root for the Outlaws against Rutherford, those three teams also need to do their job tonight to keep pace. Centennial have quite the challenge, because the Big Red have started to pick things up recently. MBA have won two of their last three, scoring 15 goals in those games (five of those came against JPII, and nine against Brentwood). And, I hate to say this for Centennial, but, this game could end up like the MBA-Brentwood game from last week. The Cougars have only won one of their last three, and that was against a Mt. Juliet team they had a tough time putting away last week.
Pick: MBA
Franklin (6-2-0) vs. Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill (0-7-2) - 8:30 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp
The Admirals become the first team this season to have a Senior Night ceremony. And you know what’s funny? Their Senior Night ceremony last season took place on the Crisp Rink in Bellevue, and their opponents were Mt. Juliet! They won that game 6-0, and, to be completely honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened again.
Pick: Franklin
Station Camp-Liberty Creek (1-5-2) vs. Brentwood (2-5-1) - 8:35 PM @ Centennial A
I could see the Bison winning this game. Their one win came against MBA, and they’ve gotten ties out of Mt. Juliet and the Outlaws. But now, they’re facing a ticked off Brentwood team that gave up nine goals in both of their games last week. A Brentwood team that is fading further and further towards a Hine Cup berth. If the Bruins put Andrew Sallee in goal, I like their chances. If they put in Collier Owen, the Bison have a shot. Jack Schultz and Callahan Fielder should be back in the Bruins’ lineup tonight after having to miss last Thursday’s game against the Rampage due to being held out on orders by the Jr. Preds.
Pick: Brentwood
