MTSN GNASH Newsletter for November 17, 2025

Tonight’s broadcast

Ravenwood vs. Father Ryan - 7:35 PM pregame, 7:40 PM broadcast BROADCAST LINK

Scenario

Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon will be eliminated from contention for the GNASH Cup regular season championship if they LOSE TO OR TIE WITH Brentwood-BA-USN, AND Ravenwood DEFEAT Father Ryan.

Previewing tonight’s games

Brentwood-BA-USN (0-5-1) vs. Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon (1-7-0) - 5 PM @ Centennial A
This is one of the [very] few chances the Bruins have to win a game this season. On paper, anyway. They suddenly had a chance to beat Hendersonville last week because they ended up facing an untested goalie making his first GNASH start, but alas, the Commandos came out with the win. I hope you don’t mind underpowered offenses with strong goaltending, because if the crease matchup is Andrew Sallee vs. Shepard Hulsey, that’s likely what you’re going to get. That’s all I have to say about this one.

Game prediction: Mt. Juliet

Tennessee Outlaws (2-4-1) vs. Station Camp-Liberty Creek-Nashville Christian (6-0-0) - 6:30 PM @ Centennial A
No one is close to clinching Preds Cup berths or ending up with a Hine Cup spot; a few more weeks of play, and things will start falling into place. But if the Bison can win this game tonight, they’re in the Preds Cup. There’s no way that a team with seven [hypothetical] wins isn’t getting into the big show, especially when they still have games against Mt. Juliet and Brentwood to come. That would require the middle section of the league to be more than below average. Can the Outlaws pull off the upset? I think that Station Camp’s perfect record will be spoiled at some point, but not tonight.

Game prediction: Station Camp

Montgomery Bell vs. Nolensville (both 4-2-1) - 6:30 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp
Bingston Soundara is back in the lineup for the Knights after missing the last two games, which is huge for them; he’s back in the nick of time as they take on the Big Red. On paper, I think that MBA have more depth; in addition to the usual duo of Matthew Moore and Trace Graham, Ethan Sides has become a Top 6 forward, and Duke D’Alba and Abe Lasher have been making big contributions, too. Nolensville have their core four (Spencer Kern, Henry Cravens, Jackson Malleus-Mayer, and Charlie Bohnert), but they’re pretty young outside of that. That’s where the goaltending comes in. Tripp Bland is facing his next big test, taking on a Nolensville team that is still dangerous though young, while Bingston Soundara is facing MBA once again, potentially for the last time (if they don’t meet up in the playoffs). He has plenty of experience existing in the Big Red’s nightmares. That’s why I tip the needle towards the Knights here.

Game prediction: Nolensville

Ravenwood (6-0-1) vs. Father Ryan (5-2-0) - 7:40 PM @ Centennial B
Like Station Camp, if Ravenwood win this game, they won’t officially clinch a Preds Cup berth, but they’ll definitely be playing in it come February. There’s a chance for Father Ryan to win this game. In every game they’ve played this season, the Raptors’ offense has been slow to get going. If Ryan can keep the Ravenwood offense quiet, convert a couple of chances, and don’t relent defensively, they can steal this game. Once again, the Irish’s roster size is a concern for me here. Previously, against Franklin, it was the Admirals’ heavy physical play that concerned me. Against Ravenwood, it’s because the Raptors love to play fast. That can fatigue a small roster. It’s how Station Camp eventually overpowered Clarksville earlier this season (although, I can’t see Ravenwood beating Father Ryan 9-1), and it’s how the Raptors overpowered the Kings last Wednesday (but, again, the Raptors will not beat the Irish 11-0). Brendan Malloy will be serving the second of his three-game suspension for an incident at the end of the Irish’s game against Franklin two weeks ago.

Game prediction: Ravenwood

Page-Summit (4-2-1) vs. Rutherford Rampage (1-5-1) - 8:15 PM @ Centennial A
The Spartriots played their best game of the season against Ensworth last week; they were relentless from opening puck drop to final buzzer. They can’t let up against the Rampage. Sure, Rutherford are on a three-game losing streak, and have been outscored 22-4 in those last three games, but Page have already had a couple of letdowns this season against teams that they should’ve beaten on paper. I wouldn’t raise an eyebrow if Page lost this game, I’d just shake my head. But considering how Greg Sauers tore into them during the second intermission against Hendersonville a couple of weeks ago, I think the players have learned their lesson about playing down to teams that they should comfortably beat (or at least just beat).

Game prediction: Page

Hendersonville-Beech-Lawson (4-3-0) vs. Ensworth-Lipscomb-CPA (2-3-0) - 8:15 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp
The Ice Tigers weren’t completely dominated by Page last week, but it was pretty clear that the Spartriots were the better team. They intercepted passes, forced a lot of shots from the outside, forced Ensworth into mistakes, and were just generally better with the puck. Hendersonville are closer to Ensworth’s level, to be honest, but I think that Ensworth’s best players (like Clayton Roach and Trex Hooper) are better than the Commandos’ best players. But, I would say that Hendersonville have the better goaltending. This will probably be a really good game. I could see a lot of end-to-end chances.

Game prediction: Hendersonville

After tonight’s games have been played, we will be exactly halfway through the regular season (60 of 120 scheduled games played).
