Last night’s broadcast

Recapping last night’s game

Rutherford Rampage 9 (4-5-0), Brentwood 2 (2-5-1)
Eddie Maze scored the game’s opening goal nearly two minutes into the game, when he hammered a Nick Hansen centering pass into the back of the net on a 2-on-0. Nearly 4:30 later, Brentwood tied the game when Zane Cesarone grabbed a loose puck in the slot, carried it to the Rampage net, and backhanded it in. With 25 seconds left in the first, Cesarone scored again off of a faceoff to begin a power play, when he won the draw, kicked the puck to his stick, then shot it through the legs of Rampage goaltender Callen Feasel (making his GNASH debut in goal), so, the Bruins led 2-1 after one. The Rampage took over the game in the second. They tied the game just 31 seconds into the middle frame, when Kyle Wolfe scored on the rebound from a saved Cooper Feasel shot that he redirected on goal after Hansen sent the puck towards the net from the right point. Just over three minutes later, the Rampage took the lead for good, when Bruins goalie Collier Owen lost track of the puck, landing to his left in the crease, where Mason Matthews put it in to score his first GNASH goal. The Rampage would score four more goals in the second: Cooper Feasel, Tucker Wilhelm, and second goals for Matthews and Maze. Then, just 13 seconds into the third, William Haynes scored, with Matthews finishing off his hat trick six minutes later. Both teams were lacking players due to travel hockey (particularly, Jr. Preds players), but Brentwood were hurt more, as top scorers Jack Schultz and Callahan Fielder didn’t play, whereas the Rampage’s biggest absences were their top goalies, Jackson Wilson and Riley Brannom. I don’t think Schultz would’ve made a difference; he might’ve made the game closer, but I don’t think Brentwood would’ve won. The Bruins allow nine goals in a game for the third time this season, and the second time this week. Things have definitely changed there.

Next game for both teams

Brentwood: Monday vs. Station Camp-Liberty Creek @ 8:35 PM @ Centennial A
