Pregame for Franklin/Hendersonville is shorter as we have covered both of these teams; this will become the norm for the rest of the season until tournament finals in late February/early March, with the exception of next week’s JPII/Hendersonville game, as the Rock Castle Cup will be on the line, and pregame for that will be done like a tournament final, with player intros and national anthem.

Previewing tonight’s games

The games that MTSN will broadcast are in BOLD. All games are being played @ Centennial A.

Ravenwood (1-0-1) vs. Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon (0-3-0) - 5 PM
Good news for Mt. Juliet: Anthony Giampaolo’s suspension is over. He will not serve any more games, as the match penalty for kicking an opposing player has been deleted from the suspensions page of the GNASH website, so, it must have gotten dropped on appeal. Bad news for Mt. Juliet: They’re facing a pretty deep Ravenwood team. Jordan Antar’s return has not really boosted the Bears’ offense. Through three games, they’ve only scored seven goals: four against Ensworth, and three against Hendersonville. How many goals had they scored through three games last season? Seven. So, nothing’s really changed. I don’t see how they upset this Raptor team who have scored exactly double MJ’s tally through just two games.

Game prediction: Ravenwood

Nolensville (1-0-1) vs. Rutherford Rampage (0-1-1) - 6:30 PM
GNASH’s two newest head coaches, Ty Johns (Nolensville) and J.R. Dunn (Rampage), face off for the first time. There’s an intriguing question here: What will Nolensville do with their goaltending strategy? Will Isaac Wenck get his first GNASH start, and play the whole game? Or will they do what they did against the Outlaws two weeks ago: Start Bingston Soundara, then switch him with Wenck after giving up the first goal, then switch back for the third? If Wenck starts and plays the whole game, the Rampage have a decent shot at pulling off a win. If Soundara gets any playing time, less so. I really think the game will hinge on this.

Game prediction: Nolensville

Franklin (2-0-0) vs. Hendersonville-Beech-Lawson (1-1-0) - 8:15 PM
The Admirals look to continue their perfect start to the season, as well as their shutout streak (they’ve outscored their opposition 7-0 so far). I’d give them a good shot (well, for the perfect start; I’m thinking they’ll finally give up a goal tonight). They’ve got just a bit more depth (and speed) than the Commandos, even without Michael Mannion in the lineup, as he is serving the second of his six-game suspension tonight. Head coach Todd Grosse finishes off his two-game suspension, and Will Clark is back in the lineup tonight after serving his one-game suspension. All of these suspensions, of course, stem from the Mt. Juliet game on September 22.
