Last night’s broadcast

Recapping last night’s games

The game that was broadcast by MTSN

JPII-MLK 4 (4-0-0), Franklin 1 (5-0-1)
No goals were scored in the first period. Just before the midway point of the second, Coleman Glidewell got JPII on the board first, when he took a shot that dribbled through the legs of Admirals goalie Grayson Butters, and slid over the goal line; unfortunately for Glidewell, his momentum carried him into Butters after the puck went in. The goal stood, but Glidewell was sent to the box for goaltender interference. 45 seconds later, the Knights would score shorthanded, when Oscar Ford fired the puck into the left-hand side of the net from the left circle. Just under two minutes later, Kade Ziemendorf made it 3-0, when a rebound from a saved Reese Davidson shot came up the slot, and he hammered it into the bottom corner of the right-hand side of the Franklin net. That was the score after two. Just before the halfway point of the third, Franklin got on the board, when Hank Hayes redirected a Quinn Spencer slapshot from the left point from right in front of the net. This was rendered moot with 89 seconds left, though, when Joe Hiller sealed the win for the Knights with a long-distance empty netter from in front of his own goal. Jacob Benoit deserves a ton of the credit, as he faced a Franklin barrage early on, and stood his ground, helping the Knights to win the game.

Next game for both teams

Franklin: October 30 vs. Station Camp-Liberty Creek @ 7:10 PM @ Centennial A

Last night’s other games

Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill 3 (0-4-2), Independence-BA-USN-Nashville Christian 3 (0-5-1)
Colton Vivrette, Reid Spencer, and Bobby Kamos had the goals for the Bears, while Landric Mayeski scored twice for the Eagles, and their other goal came from Oliver Wiedman (his first GNASH goal). Bears captain Anthony Giampaolo seems to have gotten a match penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct, so, he must’ve said something. He will likely be suspended. Both sides will be frustrated to not get the win, because, as I said in yesterday’s newsletter, this was one of the few games they had a good chance of winning.

Next game for both teams
Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill: Next Monday vs. Rutherford Rampage @ 5:30 PM @ Centennial B
Independence-BA-USN-Nashville Christian: October 28 vs. Father Ryan @ 8:35 PM @ Centennial B

Hendersonville-Beech-Lawson 5 (4-1-1), Station Camp-Liberty Creek 1 (0-2-1)
Carter Morrison and Caden Sisco each scored twice for the Commandos, with Britton Smith chipping in the other goal. Jadon Robertson had the Bison’s lone tally. Just two more wins for Hendersonville, and I think they get into the Predators Cup.

Next game for both teams
Hendersonville-Beech-Lawson: Tomorrow vs. Summit-Page @ 7:10 PM @ Centennial A
Station Camp-Liberty Creek: Tomorrow vs. Ensworth-Nolensville-Lipscomb @ 8:30 PM @ Centennial B
