Last night’s broadcast

Recapping last night’s games

The game that was broadcast by MTSN
Ravenwood 3 (5-1-0), Montgomery Bell 1 (3-2-1)
Grady Fernan scored the first goal of the game with just under four minutes left in the first, when he hammered a one-timer on a cross-ice pass from Brady Friedman into the back of the MBA net from the bottom of the left circle. Just 2:32 into the second, Cooper Hill made it 2-0 Ravenwood, when he one-timed a centering pass from Mason Reed into the back of the net from the left-hand side of the crease on a 2-on-0. Matthew Moore got MBA on the board 2:01 into the third, when he shot the puck into the bottom corner on the right-hand side of the net after perfectly handling a line drive pass that came from James Lehrman, who was halfway down the left-wing side of the Big Red end. With 26 seconds to go, Keaton Moffitt added an empty-netter to bring the game to its 3-1 final. Hunter Wieck kept the Big Red in the game early, making 21 saves on 23 shots, and as the game went on, MBA’s chances picked up. They had a lot of great looks at the Ravenwood net late to try and tie the game up. They did better than I thought they would.

Next game for both teams
Ravenwood: Next Monday vs. JPII-MLK @ 5:30 PM @ Centennial A
Montgomery Bell: Tomorrow vs. Rutherford Rampage @ 8:30 PM @ Centennial B

The night’s other games
Ensworth-Nolensville-Lipscomb 6 (6-0-0), Rutherford Rampage 1 (3-4-0)
Spencer Kern led the Ice Tigers in scoring with a hat trick, while Henry Cravens scored twice, and Lucas Tarquine had the other goal. Myles Thompson scored for the Rampage. Ensworth are now only one point off of league leaders Hendersonville…who they face next week (although, they’ll jump into first place should they beat Franklin first next Monday).

Next game for both teams
Ensworth-Nolensville-Lipscomb: Next Monday vs. Franklin @ 8:30 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp
Rutherford Rampage: Tomorrow vs. Montgomery Bell @ 8:30 PM @ Centennial B

Summit-Page 4 (5-2-0), Centennial-FRA 1 (2-4-0)
Hunter Haley scored twice for the Spartans, with their other goals coming from Brayden Owen and Hudson Halters. Brendan Mitchell had the Cougars’ only goal. Summit outshot Centennial 31-19. Feels like the Cougars are gonna be a Hine Cup team again.

Next game for both teams
Summit-Page: November 13 vs. Montgomery County Rangers @ 8:45 PM @ Centennial A
Centennial-FRA: Next Monday vs. Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill @ 7:05 PM @ Centennial A

JPII-MLK 4 (5-1-0), Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill 2 (0-6-2)
David Bavas, Joe Hiller, Nick Pellegrino, and Reese Davidson scored the Knights’ goals, while Bobby Kamos and Reid Spencer scored for the Bears. A much closer game than I thought it was going to be. MJ took a 1-0 lead just over three minutes in, and held it until just before the halfway point of the second. Mt. Juliet are getting closer to officially being eliminated from contention for the GNASH Cup regular season championship (they’re closer than the Rangers at this point; in fact, if MJ lose to Centennial next Monday, then Ensworth beat Franklin, they will be out of GNASH Cup contention). This was the 50th game of the regular season to be completed.

Next game for both teams
JPII-MLK: Next Monday vs. Ravenwood @ 5:30 PM @ Centennial A
Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill: Next Monday vs. Centennial-FRA @ 7:05 PM @ Centennial A

Independence-BA-USN-Nashville Christian 5 (1-5-1), Father Ryan 2 (1-4-1)
Bryson Patton scored twice for the Eagles, with the other goals coming from Landric Mayeski, Joey Fried, and Jayden Charnparnichkarn. Parker Causey and Gage Hart scored for the Fighting Irish. Wow. And woof. What a bad result for Father Ryan. And I can feel MBA getting angrier about the 2-2 tie between they and Ryan from back on September 30. Two alarming stats: Father Ryan only outshot Indy 22-21, and Zach Fonnesbeck allowed all five goals. They’ve yet to win a game with him in net this season. They only lost 2-0 to Ensworth literally last Monday. If they miss out on the Predators Cup, this loss could end up being the reason. For the Indy program (and only the Indy program), I’m pretty sure that this is that program’s first win since beating Station Camp in early 2023. This won’t be their last, either, since they still have a game with the Rangers down the line. Speaking of the Rangers, guess who Father Ryan get to take their anger about this loss out on next?

Next game for both teams
Independence-BA-USN-Nashville Christian: November 13 vs. Ensworth-Nolensville-Lipscomb @ 7:10 PM @ Centennial A
Father Ryan: Next Wednesday vs. Montgomery County Rangers @ 7:10 PM @ Centennial A
