Last night’s broadcast

Recapping last night’s games

The game that was broadcast by MTSN
Tennessee Outlaws 6 (2-2-1), Rutherford Rampage 1 (1-3-1)
Josh Kuehn opened the scoring just over two minutes in, when the Outlaws won a faceoff in the Rampage zone, and he shot the puck towards the net from the left-wing boards, and it deflected in off of Rampage goalie Riley Brannom. Just over 6:30 later, Kuehn scored again, backhanding the puck into the roof of the net from the right-hand post; seconds earlier, Kuehn passed the puck across the front of the net to Clive Keeler, who had a wide-open net, only to backhand it past the left-hand post. With 20 seconds left in the first, and the Rampage on the power play, Gavin Littleton took a shot from the left point; Kyle Wolfe was standing at the right-hand side of the net, and managed to redirect it in off of the inside of the post to Dawson Reynolds’s left, and it was 2-1 Tennessee after one. Just 4:01 into the second, Kuehn completed his hat trick, when he dug the puck off of Brannom’s right leg pad, and backhanded it in, Brannom having come too far up his crease. Nearly five minutes later, Kuehn brought the puck down the left wing of the Rampage zone, and spotted Keeler in the slot; he dropped it back to Keeler, who fired it in over Brannom’s glove (left hand), and it was 4-1 Outlaws after two. Before this goal, Kuehn nearly scored a fourth, only to have shot from the left circle go off of the post to Brannom’s left. Nearly three minutes into the third, Mark White banked the puck off of the back of Brannom’s right leg and in, taking the shot from below the goal line near the right-hand side of the net. 3:01 later, James Daniel scored the game’s final goal, when he shot the puck in past Brannom’s glove from the slot. Great win for the Outlaws; the Rampage dominated puck possession in the latter half of the first, but Dawson Reynolds made enough saves to keep the Outlaws ahead, then they took over puck possession in the second, and won the game there.

Next game for both teams
Tennessee Outlaws: Monday vs. Ensworth-Lipscomb-CPA @ 8:15 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp
Rutherford Rampage: Next Wednesday vs. Ravenwood @ 8:40 PM @ Centennial A

The night’s other game
Clarksville Kings 5 (3-2-0), Independence-Centennial 2 (2-2-1)
PJ Burns had a hat trick for the Kings, with their other goals coming from Conner Bailey and Jackson Curran (NOT Colton Beshires, as the GameSheet says; I watched Curran score the empty-netter while setting up for the next game), and George Logozar and Aiden Gardner scored for the Eagles. Riley Barnes made 40 saves on 42 shots, his best performance yet in GNASH. I forgot to mention that Cash Branyan was suspended for last night’s game for the boarding major against Brentwood last week; I don’t really know if his absence mattered because of Barnes standing on his head. Indy will definitely want to win Monday’s game, especially because of who the opponents are. As for Clarksville, a two-game winning streak (first winning streak in program history), and three wins out of the last four. They have a game against JPII next Wednesday that I think is winnable, but then, they have - in order - Ravenwood, Franklin, Father Ryan, Montgomery Bell, and Nolensville. If they can win two of those five, and win some more games against teams at the bottom of the table, they might sneak into the Preds Cup. However, I still think they need a couple more players to really challenge those five, but, with how things have been this season, they might surprise a couple of those teams (I mean, Father Ryan are 4-1-0 with just 16 skaters, and two of those wins are against MBA and Nolensville); we’ll see.

Next game for both teams
Clarksville Kings: Next Wednesday vs. JPII-MLK-GCS @ 7:10 PM @ Centennial A
Independence-Centennial: Monday vs. Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon @ 5 PM @ Centennial A
