Recapping last night’s games
Clarksville Kings 7 (1-1-0), Tennessee Outlaws 5 (0-2-1)
Aidan Hasse opened the scoring just 41 seconds in, when he took a shot from the Outlaws high slot that appeared to leak through goalie Thomas Redden and ended up in the bottom left-hand corner of the net. Nearly seven minutes later, Josh Kuehn grabbed a puck that Colton Beshires failed to keep in the Outlaws’ zone at center, carried it to the front of the Kings’ net, and roofed it. Nearly 2:30 later, Clive Keeler won a faceoff in his own zone, and blasted through the pack, getting into the Clarksville zone, before taking a shot that appeared to go in off the post to Clarksville goalie Riley Barnes’s left, giving the Outlaws what would be their only lead of the game. Just over two minutes later, Brock Hasse tied the game with his first GNASH goal, firing the puck into the roof of the net from the bottom of the right circle, and it was 2-2 after the first. Just over 2:30 into the second, the Kings took the lead back on the power play, when Camden Hasse scored his first GNASH goal, taking a shot from the high slot that went in underneath Redden’s legs. 79 seconds later, with the Kings on another power play, they won a faceoff in the Outlaws’ zone to start said man advantage; Camden Hasse took a shot that Redden stopped, only for Brock Hasse to backhand the rebound in for his second goal of the game. Nearly seven minutes later, Keeler scored his second goal, when he buried the rebound of a saved James Daniel shot, and it was 4-3 after two. Just over 2:30 into the third, Kuehn scored his second goal shorthanded, when he buried a wraparound try. The net came off its pegs, but the officials conferred, and let the goal stand. 4:10 later, the Kings went back in front, when Ethan Rawlings scored his first GNASH goal (and became the first non-Hasse to score for the Kings this season) by getting a pass in the slot, and firing it over Redden’s glove, into the back of the net. 57 seconds later, Keeler completed his hat trick and tied the game on the power play, when he received a centering pass from Kuehn that he buried in the back of the net. Jackson Curran scored the game-winning goal shorthanded with 94 seconds left, when he grabbed a puck that the Outlaws failed to clear, and fired it over Redden’s glove into the back of the net from the high slot. Aidan Hasse sealed the game up 20 seconds later with an empty-netter. It’s the first-ever win for the Clarksville Kings/Montgomery County Rangers program. Great to see, although, I’m sure that Connor Bailey will be a bit steamed that he wasn’t present for the occasion.

Tennessee Outlaws: October 22 vs. Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon @ 8:40 PM @ Centennial A
Father Ryan 4 (2-1-0), Montgomery Bell 2 (2-1-0)
Can I get some Buffalo sauce for this crow? It’s kinda dry. Gage Hart opened the scoring just 61 seconds in, when he broke out of his own zone, receiving a pass from Ridgeway Lambert, carried it down the MBA slot, and beat Big Red goalie Tripp Bland glove side (his right-hand side, in this case). Just over 3:30 later, Emma Causey scored her first GNASH goal, when she took a shot from the left circle that slightly went off the ice, then landed back down right at Bland’s five-hole, and went in. Just over two minutes after that, Noah Deffenbaugh made it 3-0, when he took a shot from the right circle that rolled up Bland’s blocker, and went in. MBA got on the board with 67 seconds left in the first, when Matthew Moore got off a centering pass to Cortland Klett in front of a wide-open Father Ryan net, and he redirected it in, making it 3-1 after one. Just 30 seconds into the second, Hart scored his second goal of the game, when he took a shot from the left circle that beat Bland blocker-side. Nearly 6:30 later, MBA won a faceoff in the Father Ryan zone; Hudson Higgins immediately shot the puck into the roof of the net for the game’s final goal. I didn’t expect this result. MBA didn’t look ready for this one, and that three-goal burst in the first buried them. Jack Karpynec played calmly in goal, especially after the Irish went up 3-0. He had some testers, but he dealt with them well. MBA have now not beaten Father Ryan since October 2023 (the last two games between these two teams ended in 2-2 ties, one of which won MBA the 2023-24 GNASH Cup regular season championship). This is a big setback for them, and Ryan neutralized the threat every chance they got. Now, guess who MBA have to turn around and play?
