Last night’s MTSN broadcast

Recapping last night’s games

The game that was broadcast by MTSN

Ravenwood 9 (1-0-0), Brentwood 0 (1-1-0)
Just a dominant performance by the Raptors to start the season. They were great on both ends, holding the Bruins to just 7 shots on goal on the defensive end. Each of Ravenwood’s goals was scored by a different player. Grady Fernan had the game-winner just 93 seconds into the game, then the other eight were scored in the following order: Keaton Moffitt, Cooper Hill, Zeke Landkammer, Canon Kiser, Timo Holan, Robert Longard, Luke Pierce, and Aryan Patnaik. Fernan, Holan, Longard, and Patnaik each score their first GNASH goal in their GNASH debuts. It’s going to be a long season for Brentwood, it appears. Maybe even longer than last year.

Next game for both teams
Ravenwood: September 30 vs. Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill @ 7:40 PM @ Centennial A
Brentwood: Next Wednesday vs. Hendersonville-Beech-Lawson @ 8:40 PM @ Centennial A

Last night’s other games
Centennial-FRA 3 (1-1-0), Station Camp-Liberty Creek 0 (0-1-0)
Nick Claas, Brendan Mitchell, and Owen Brought did the scoring for the Cougars, as they bounced back from Monday’s loss to Ensworth. Drew Stratton posted a 17-save shutout in his first GNASH appearance since the 2023 Henry Hine Cup Final If Necessary Game.

Next game for both teams
Centennial-FRA: September 30 vs. Hendersonville-Beech-Lawson @ 7 PM @ Centennial B
Station Camp-Liberty Creek: Tonight vs. Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill @ 8:30 PM @ Antioch-North

Montgomery Bell 10 (1-0-0), Montgomery County Rangers 1 (0-2-0)
The first-ever official GNASH game at Ford Ice Center inside Clarksville’s F&M Bank Arena went the way of the Big Red. Matthew Moore led the way by notching the first hat trick of the GNASH season; Trace Graham scored twice, and the other goals came from Duke D’Alba, Ethan Moore, Ethan Sides, Fritz Moorman, and Henry Berk. For Moorman and Berk, this was their first GNASH goals in their GNASH debuts. Andy Lietz had the only Rangers goal. Hunter Wieck got the win in net for the Big Red, playing the first two periods, then letting Aiden Becker finish the game, playing all of the third. A great start to the season for MBA.

Next game for both teams
Montgomery Bell: September 30 vs. Father Ryan @ 5:30 PM @ Centennial A
Montgomery County Rangers: Monday vs. JPII-MLK @ 7 PM @ Centennial B

Franklin 6 (1-0-0), Tennessee Outlaws 3 (0-1-0)
Will McCormick led the way in scoring for the Admirals with two goals. The other four for Franklin came from Hank Hayes, Quinn Spencer, Kasper Thuresson, and Houston Veile. The Outlaws’ three goals came from Josh Kuehn, Clive Keeler, and Jack Restey. Nice start to the season for Franklin.

Next game for both teams
Franklin: Monday vs. Hendersonville-Beech-Lawson @ 7:40 PM @ Centennial A
Tennessee Outlaws: Monday vs. Independence-BA-USN-Nashville Christian @ 8:30 PM @ Centennial B

Previewing tonight’s game

As this is the first game of the season for Mt. Juliet, they don’t have a record next to their name.

Station Camp-Liberty Creek (0-1-0) vs. Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill - 8:30 PM @ Antioch-North
The Bison go right back to work after last night’s loss to Centennial. They weren’t bad, as they had 17 shots on goal compared to Centennial’s 21, but they ran into the brick wall known as Drew Stratton. I think Station Camp will be in for a few wins this season.

The Golden Bears are the last team to get off the starting line. They graduated a pretty decent group of players last season (Ryan Woods, Tyler Dubois, Jacob Thomas, Rylan Cripe, and goaltenders Noah Smartt and Brandt Balz). They also lost their leading scorer, Jordan Antar, who moved to New Jersey to play for the New Jersey Titans’ U16 team. Their third goaltender, Korbin Vickrey, is not on the roster this season, as it looks like that he will be focusing on playing for the Red River (formerly Nashville) Spartans, meaning that they’ve had to go out and find two new goaltenders. Well, they did, picking up Kazien Cronrath and Jack Boyett. Unfortunately, Cronrath is one of this season’s four seniors (the other three are Andrew Huffine, Bobby Kamos, and Carson Slocum), so, they’ll be looking for a second goalie as soon as the season is over. Boyett is a freshman, so, unless he leaves by choice during the offseason, the Bears will only need one more goalie for next season. Other notable returnees include Jackson Blevins, who didn’t play last season, plus Alex Alsaker, Anthony Giampaolo, Jayson Tippens, and the Spencer twins, Carter and Reid. The Bears should be an improved team this season. Alex Walker returns for his second season as head coach.

Bison boss Keith Grooms faces his old team for the first time.

Pick: Mt. Juliet
