Last night’s broadcast

Recapping last night’s games

The game that was broadcast by MTSN
Nolensville 3 (1-0-0), Independence-Centennial 2 (0-1-0)
Wow, what a finish! Aiden Gardner opened the scoring just over three minutes in, when he split two Nolensville defenders, moved in on the right-hand side of the net, and shot the puck through Bingston Soundara’s five-hole. Just over 3:30 later, Henry Cravens tied the game, when he took a shot with a screen, the puck hitting the top-right corner of the Indy-Centennial net, and it was 1-1 after one. Just past the halfway point of the second, and with Indy on the power play, Nick Claas fed the puck out in front from behind the net, and Spencer Pacholko scored his first GNASH goal, with a one-timer from right in front. Nearly three minutes later, with Indy on another power play, and time winding down on it, Charlie Bohnert chased a loose puck into the Indy zone. David Busby came out of his crease to try and play it, diving out, only for Bohnert to get the puck, skate by him, and backhand it into the wide-open net, and it was 2-2 after two. With just under ten seconds left in the game, Bryson Patton whiffed on a centering pass in front of the Nolensville net; Logan Campbell took the loose puck to center, with only one Indy defender back. Campbell passed it to the middle, where Jackson Malleus-Mayer grabbed the puck, carried it into the left circle, and fired it into the back of the net to give the Knights their first lead of the game with 3.8 seconds left. Tremendous goaltending performances by Soundara and Busby; they each made 28 saves. Shame one of them lost.

Next game for both teams
Nolensville: Next Monday vs. Tennessee Outlaws @ 6:30 PM @ Centennial A
Independence-Centennial: Next Monday vs. Father Ryan @ 8:15 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp

The night’s other games
Father Ryan 5 (1-0-0), Brentwood-BA-USN 2 (0-1-0)
Hudson Laux and Gage Hart each scored twice for the Fighting Irish, with their other goal coming from Ridgeway Lambert. Colin Engelhardt and Charles Sloane scored for the Bruins; it’s the first GNASH goal for each. The game was tied 2-2 after two period, but the Irish scored three unanswered in the third period to win it. Father Ryan outshot Brentwood-BA-USN 38-14, and, according to the GameSheet, didn’t allow a shot on goal in the third period. Once again, the Bruins will need Andrew Sallee to play well in goal to give them a chance at all this season.

Brentwood-BA-USN: Next Monday vs. Franklin @ 4:45 PM @ Centennial A

Franklin 5 (1-0-0), Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon 0 (0-1-0)
Wyatt Gerischer, David Unger, Cole Wright, Baker McCormick, and Hank Hayes scored the goals for the Admirals in a penalty-filled game that saw Franklin get enough that head coach Todd Grosse will be suspended for the next game (unless some of them get pared down).

Next game for both teams

Station Camp-Liberty Creek-Nashville Christian 6 (1-0-0), Rutherford Rampage 4 (0-1-0)
Dom DeMaria scored twice for the Bison, with their other goals coming from Andrew Grooms, Merritt Freeman (his first GNASH goal), Tobyn Mehaffy (game-winner), and McClain Gregory. The Rampage’s goals came from Cooper Feasel, Logan Wolfe, Daniel Dryden, and Graham Sourek (first GNASH goals for those two). Looked like a decent game, but nowhere near as dramatic as the one that they played last November.
