Last night’s MTSN broadcast

Recapping last night’s games

The game that was broadcast by MTSN

Franklin 4 (3-0-0), Rutherford Rampage 3 (1-2-0)
All seven goals were scored in the second period. Eddie Maze kicked off the scoring just 26 seconds in, when his shot from the left circle seemed to dribble through Franklin goalie Chad Janson into the back of the net. Just 33 seconds later, the Admirals tied the game, when Ryan Mannion fired the puck into the roof of the net from the Rampage slot. Just under 90 seconds later, Will McCormick gave Franklin the lead when he closed in on the left-hand side of the net, and roofed his shot. Just under six minutes later, Mannion scored his second goal when he redirected at Wyatt Gerischer centering pass into the right-hand side of the net with the black of his stick blade from right in front; the Admirals then won the subsequent faceoff, and Mannion shot the puck into the bottom corner on the left-hand side of the net just seven seconds later to complete his hat trick. With just under two minutes left in the second, Josh Wolfe brought the Rampage to within two, when he hammered the puck into the back of the net from the bottom of the left circle. Exactly 40 seconds later, Kyle Wolfe made it a one-goal game when he one-timed a centering pass into the bottom corner on the left-hand side of the Franklin net from right in front. The Admirals held on from there to become the first team to reach three wins this young season.

Next game for both teams
Franklin: Monday vs. Montgomery County Rangers @ 8:30 PM @ Bellevue-Crisp
Rutherford Rampage: Next Thursday vs. Ravenwood @ 8:30 PM @ Antioch-North

The night’s other games

Ensworth-Nolensville-Lipscomb 9 (2-0-0), Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill 2 (0-2-1)
Lucas Tarquine and Jackson Malleus-Mayer each scored twice for the Ice Tigers, with the other goals coming from Trex Hooper, Jax Dooner, Hudson Honeybone, Heath Hudy, and Will Copeland. Bobby Kamos had both of Mt. Juliet’s tallies. Looks like the Bears are in for a long season after being blown out twice this week by Summit and now Ensworth. They are definitely not alone in that regard.

Next game for both teams
Ensworth-Nolensville-Lipscomb: October 9 vs. Montgomery County Rangers @ 8:40 PM @ Centennial A
Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill: Monday vs. Ravenwood @ 7:40 PM @ Centennial A

Hendersonville-Beech-Lawson 6 (1-1-1), Brentwood 6 (1-1-1)
Brentwood’s seniors led the way in scoring, as Callahan Fielder had a hat trick, Jack Schultz had two goals, and Zane Cesarone had the other. Hendersonville’s six goals came from six different players: Gideon Drobnick (who had four assists in addition to his goal), Kaden Smith, Cayden Lewis, Brian Wilkinson, Ty Ellis (the first GNASH goal for each of those three), and Colin Smith scored the final goal. Both teams will feel frustrated that they didn’t win this game, especially the Commandos, who outshot Brentwood by a 2:1 ratio (43 to 21).

Next game for both teams
Hendersonville-Beech-Lawson: Monday vs. Centennial-FRA @ 7 PM @ Centennial B
Brentwood: Next Wednesday vs. Franklin @ 8:40 PM @ Centennial A
