Recapping last night’s games
Tennessee Outlaws 5 (2-2-2), USN-BA-Nashville Christian-FRA-Goodpasture 1 (2-3-1)
Mitchell Proffitt scored the opening goal just 73 in, but the Outlaws would slowly take over from there. Late in the first period, they scored two goals in 71 seconds, first from James Daniel, then the game-winner from Jacob Schenk. Schenk added another tally near the midway point of the second, with Josh Kuehn making it 4-1 four-and-a-half minutes later. Daniel scored his second goal of the game just past the halfway point of the third to bring the game to its final score. The result means that USN will be staying in Tier 2.
Next game for both teams
Tennessee Outlaws: Next Wednesday vs. Summit-Page - 7:10 PM @ Centennial A
USN-BA-Nashville Christian-FRA-Goodpasture: Next Wednesday - 8:40 PM @ Centennial A
Franklin 9 (6-0-1), Rutherford Rampage 3 (1-6-0)
After missing Monday’s game against Brentwood due to an injury he sustained in travel play over the weekend, Jackson Wilson was back in the crease for the Rampage, trying to save them from taking the drop to Tier 2. Unfortunately, it was for naught. The Admirals had a 2-0 lead after one, with the first period goals from Quinn Lohse and Gavin Akers. They added four in the second, a second goal for Quinn Lohse was accompanied by goals for Maclaine Butters, Grant Hays, and Hudson Lohse. The Rampage scored their three goals within the first five minutes of the third, with two Eddie Maze tallies sandwiching one from Dylan Welch. The Admirals shut down the comeback attempt, and notched three more goals: another from Butters, one from Hudson Richards, and Hudson Lohse scored the final tally with 34 seconds left. The result means that the Rampage will be going down. Hopefully, they’ll find more luck in the second half of the regular season.
Next game for both teams
TBA, as both teams have completed the first half of the regular season.
Ravenwood 4 (2-4-0), Pope Prep-MLK-GCA 2 (3-4-0)
Jacob Sullivan scored the opening goal on the power play right at the halfway point of the first period. After he scored a second just 78 seconds into the second, it looked as if the Knights were going to get another gutsy win against a tough opponent. The tide turned just over three minutes later, when Keaton Moffitt scored on a netmouth scramble after Pope goalie Anthony Pellegrino made two fantastic saves on a three-shot rush. Nearly two minutes later, Cooper Hill scored his first GNASH goal in over 20 months, taking a shot from the left wing that deflected off of Pellegrino’s glove and in. It was 2-2 after two, and Oliver Lutz needed just 25 seconds of the third to score the winning goal. Liam Powell added an empty netter with 12.9 seconds left, managing to flip the puck through the air from halfway inside his own zone, and have it land on line with the Pope net. The result of the game means that the race to stay in Tier 1 will go all the way to next Wednesday’s clash between the Raptors and Mt. Juliet. It also means that Brentwood could still go down. Buckle up; this is going to be a spectacular finish.
Next game for both teams
Ravenwood: Next Wednesday vs. Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Green Hill - 8:15 PM @ Antioch-South
Pope Prep-MLK-GCA: TBA; they have completed the first half of the regular season
Ensworth-Nolensville-Lipscomb 10 (7-0-0), Summit-Page 7 (4-2-0)
The two best offenses in Tier 2 finally met, and delivered. It was 3-3 after one, with Justin Nozko, Trex Hooper, and Ben Sonkin scoring for Ensworth, and Cody Lightfoot, Cam White, and Zach Ellis lighting the metaphorical lamp for the Spartans. It was 7-6 after two, by which point Sonkin had completed a hat trick, Hooper added a second, along with Henry Cravens getting on the scoresheet for the Ice Tigers, with Hunter Haley scoring twice for Summit, while Sean Scott added a goal of his own. Hooper finished off his own hat trick early in the third, before a second goal from Ellis made it 8-7 near the halfway point of the final period, before Ensworth pulled away with their final goals coming from Sonkin and Hooper each scoring their fourth. Despite the loss, Summit should still feel good about moving up, as they’re playing the Outlaws next Wednesday, and should have no problem putting them away.

Ensworth-Nolensville-Lipscomb: TBA; they have completed the first half of the regular season.
Summit-Page: Next Wednesday vs. Tennessee Outlaws - 7:10 PM @ Centennial A
Hendersonville-Beech-Gallatin 9 (3-1-2), Independence-Ravenwood 2 1 (0-6-1)
Gideon Drobnick scored the opening goal nearly five minutes in, and the Commandos held the 1-0 lead for nearly six minutes, when Landric Mayeski tied the game with just over three minutes left in the first. Hendersonville grabbed a hold of the game from there, with Justin Schaefer scoring the game-winner just 74 seconds after Mayeski’s tying strike, and Nate Luke had the Commandos up 3-1 after one, scoring with just seven seconds left in the opening frame. In the second, two Jared Shirden goals sandwiched a second tally from Drobnick, and it was 6-1 after 28 minutes. In the third, Luke added a second, while Braden Rose and Merrick Mott also found the back of the net. The Commandos are still in the hunt to move up to Tier 1, as they and Summit both have eight points. The Spartans are ranked ahead of the Commandos due to having more wins (4 to 3). If Summit somehow botch their game against the Outlaws, I think that Hendersonville would be able to beat USN and take advantage. We’ll see.
