Recapping last night’s games

USN-BA-Nashville Christian-FRA-Goodpasture 2 (1-0-1), Independence-Ravenwood 2 1 (0-2-0)
USN overcame not having Barrett Teasdale due to suspension - as well as only having 10 skaters - to collect their first win as a supplemental team. Jayden Charnpanichkarn scored the first goal of the game - his first in GNASH - with just five seconds left in the first period. Torrin Kemble tied the game just 70 seconds into the second, before Ryan Barrett scored the game-winner with just one second left in the second period.

Montgomery Bell 3 (2-0-0), Pope Prep-MLK-GCA 1 (1-2-0)
All three members of MBA’s top line scored in their second victory of the season: Lee Guy scored the first goal late in the first, Matthew Moore scored what turned out to be the game winner on a power play in the second, and Trace Graham scored an empty-netter with just 2.5 seconds left in the third. Owen Gilliam scored Pope’s only goal - his first GNASH tally - in the second period. Hunter Wieck was strong in goal for the Big Red, making 21 saves on 22 Knights shots.

Next game for both teams
Montgomery Bell: Tomorrow vs. Brentwood - 8:30 PM @ Centennial B
Pope Prep-MLK-GCA: Tomorrow vs. Franklin - 7:30 PM @ Antioch-North

Franklin 7 (3-0-0), Ravenwood 3 (1-2-0)
There’s no sugarcoating this: Franklin dominated the Raptors. Not just on the scoreboard, but, physically, too. It took just 39 seconds for the Admirals to get in the board, MacLaine Butters scoring from the left circle when he found a loose puck. 45 seconds later, it was 2-0, as Aidan Murphy hammered home a centering pass from Will McCormick. Liam Powell got Ravenwood on the board near the midway point of the first, only for Hudson Lohse to make it 3-1 61 seconds later. The younger Lohse brother made it 4-1 near the halfway point of the second, managing to squeeze the puck through Raptors goalie Brady Miller from in tight. Brandon Mills would then make it 5-1, rifling a shot into the roof of the net. Ravenwood finally got a second goal, as Brady Friedman scored on a breakaway after blocking a shot. After the second period, Miller was removed from the Ravenwood crease for freshman Colin Gower. Friedman made things interesting 25 seconds into the third, one-timing a centering pass into the roof of the Franklin net from the slot to make it 5-3. The Admirals would stave off a comeback, though, and add two more goals, both of them from Quinn Lohse. First, he tipped in a Gavin Akers slapshot from in front to make it 6-3, then followed up a Gower save on an Akers shot to bang in the rebound with just six seconds left in the game to get to the 7-3 final.

Next game for both teams
Ravenwood: October 25 vs. Rutherford Rampage - 8:15 PM @ Antioch-South
Franklin: Tomorrow vs. Pope Prep-MLK-GCA - 7:30 PM @ Antioch-North
